It was January 2020 and I was embarking on a fresh, new year. New attitudes, new ideas, and new goals seem to flow more freely at the beginning of a new year so when a friend asked me to design two looks for a fashion show she was directing in Scottsdale, I immediately said yes. Excited and a bit overwhelmed, I went right to work. I’m a visual and tactile person so I knew the first step had to be fabric. Once I had the fabric in my hands, I knew my vision would come to life. So I booked a trip to San Francisco to go fabric shopping and of course, squeeze in a quick family visit too. And of course, lots of calls to friends sharing the excitement. One very wise one suggested that I document my trip for when I start writing a blog. When she said that I didn't think too much about the idea.
However, I am so glad I listened to her because here I am writing my blog.

Once in San Francisco, I headed to the Mission Street district because I distinctively remembered there were a couple of large fabric stores. But after hours of walking up and down the Mission district, I found nothing. A bit discouraged, it so happened that Brian (my husband) had to take an important business call and lucky for me, I noticed a staircase leading up to a store on the 2nd floor and feeling like a lucky girl, I found Cali Fabrics. Several hours of looking through their selections and armed with yards and yards of different fabrics, my task was done and we headed back to the hotel to enjoy celebratory drinks with our family.
