Break their Silence by listening to them.

My weekly Friday chat session became a reality check for me and my health. Don't worry; I am all good. But the conversation has been weighing on me ever since.

So let us start the week by taking a moment to send thankful vibes to the Universe for our good health. I guess, for me, it took hearing a friend open up about her challenging health struggles for me to take a step back and appreciate what I have.

What was heartbreaking is that she is battling it all on her own and in her own private space. So young, beautiful, and strong, yet alone in her painful journey. Her tears are shed silently in the privacy of her own four walls. But out and about, you will only see big smiles on her face. Someone always full of love and support. She is the first person to pat you on the back and tell you to keep going; oddly, there is no one telling her to keep going, to stay strong.

All of this made me think

and think and think. And you all know how I get when I think a lot. I feel deeply and want to make changes, but I will send love and positive vibes from afar out of respect for her privacy for now. And friend, please call when you need someone to lean on. I am here for you.

So, friends, my lesson for today is that we all need to take a few minutes each day to be thankful for our health. The luxury of being able to make a choice to be active is always taken for granted. Even something as simple as getting out of bed daily becomes infinitely harder when your body and health are suffering. You never know when that could be taken from you.

You also never know who is suffering in silence, so put aside pushing to being the best, the greatest, or the prettiest and be the nicest and kindest person you can be. The world needs it. Your friends need it.
